About

Nelson Gray is a writer, director and, currently, a Lecturer at the University of Lethbridge. As co-director of JumpStart Performance, his collaborations with Lee Eisler resulted in national and international touring of original dance theatre. With Beth Carruthers, he conceived and directed the SongBird Project, one of the first community-based ecological arts projects in the country. He has taught scriptwriting, acting, theatre history, and speech communications at several universities, including Vancouver Island University, The University of Victoria and the University of Lethbridge, and his poetry, reviews and scholarly articles have been published in numerous journals in Canada and the United States. He is completing a PhD at the University of Victoria and co-editing, with Sheila Rabillard, an issue of the Canadian Theatre Review on Theatre in an age of Eco-crisis.
